DTC Information: DTC Detecting Condition

Item Detecting Condition Possible Cause
DTC Strategy
  • Plausibility check
  1. Poor connection or damaged harness
  2. Faulty IAT sensor
Case 1 Enable Conditions
  • Engine speed during engine start higher than 640 to 960 RPM
  • Battery voltage is between 6 V and 16 V
  • Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) higher than 74°C (165.2°F)
  • Integrated mass air flow greater 10000
  • Engine stop time longer than 10 sec.
Threshold Value
  • Intake air temperature signal variation since Engine Start lower than 1.5°C (34.7°F)
Diagnosis Time
  • Immediate
Case 2 Enable Conditions
  • Battery voltage is between 6 V and 16 V
Threshold Value
  • Noisy signal: The difference between IAT and IAT moving mean value higher than 8.5°C (47.3°F) within 0.5 sec.
Diagnosis Time
  • 0.5 sec.
Case 3 Enable Conditions
  • Battery voltage is between 6 V and 16 V
  • Engine stop time longer than 480 min
  • Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) drop is lower than 2°C (35.6°F) within 15 sec. right after engine starts
Threshold Value
  • Deviation between IAT and 2 other temp sensors (ECT, AAT or EOT) and Deviation among other temp sensors (ECT, AAT, EOT) higher than 20°C (68°F) or lower than 20 °C (68°F)
Diagnosis Time
  • Immediate
MIL On Condition
  • 2 Driving Cycles
