Repair Procedures: Removal

Remove the under cover.
(Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "ENGINE ROOM UNDER COVER ")
Remove the drain plug (A) and drain the ATF totally and then reinstall the drain plug.
Tightening torque:

33.3 ~ 43.1 N.m (3.4 ~ 4.4 kgf.m, 24.6 ~ 31.8 lb-ft)

CAUTION:
- Replace the gasket before reinstalling the drain plug.
- After the installation, start the engine and then check if there are any leakages from the drain plug.
Remove the automatic transaxle.
(Refer to Automatic Transaxle System - "AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE ")
Remove the torque converter (A).

Remove the converter housing assembly (B) from the transaxle case assembly (A) by removing the bolts.
Tightening torque:

27.5 ~ 34.3 N.m (2.8 ~ 3.5 kgf.m, 20.3 ~ 25.3 lb-ft)

Remove the oil pump assembly (A).
Tightening torque:

19.6 ~ 25.5 N.m (2.0 ~ 2.6 kgf.m, 14.5 ~ 18.8 lb-ft)

Remove the sealant (A) residues on the transaxle case and convert housing side.
