C-CAN Communication line Inspection

■ Check short to ground in CAN communication line 

1. Ignition OFF.
2. Connect all related module connectors.
3. Measure resistance between C-CAN high terminal of EPB (& ESP) Module harness connector and chassis ground.
4. Measure resistance between C-CAN low terminal of EPB (& ESP) Module harness connector and chassis ground.

   Specification:  Infinity Ω

■ Check short to battery in CAN communication line 

1. Ignition OFF.
2. Connect all related module connectors.
3. Ignition ON.
4. Measure voltage between C-CAN high terminal of EPB (& ESP) Module harness connector and chassis ground.
5. Measure voltage between C-CAN low terminal of EPB (& ESP) Module harness connector and chassis ground.

   Specification:  Below 5V

■ Check Open in C-CAN communication line 

1. IG KEY OFF.
2. Disconnect EPB (& ESP) Module connector and BCM connector.
3. Measure the resistance between C-CAN-HIGH terminal of EPB (& ESP) Module harness connector and C-CAN-HIGH terminal of BCM harness connector.
4. Measure the resistance between C-CAN-LOW terminal of EPB (& ESP) Module harness connector and C-CAN-LOW terminal of BCM harness connector.

   Specification:  Below 1 Ω

5. Is the measured value within specification?

   YES 

   • Check BCM, EPB Module connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

   NO 

   • Check for open/short in harness.
   • Repair as necessary and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
