Signal Circuit Inspection
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
■ Short to power Circuit Inspection
- Ignition "OFF".
- Refer to "BMS ECU ", and disconnect the BMS control module connector.
- Ignition "ON" & ENG. "OFF" & EV Mode "READY".
- Measure voltage between Pin No. 17 (Crash Out) terminal of BMS control module connector and chassis ground.
Specification: Voltage - Approx 9.0V/Duty - Approx 20%
- Is the measured value within specification?
YES
- Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in the part's and/or BMS connector or was repaired and BMS memory was not cleared. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.
NO
- Check the signal circuit between BMS control module and airbag control unit for disconnection and short circuit, repair if necessary and carry out "Verification Of Repair " procedure.
- If no problems were found with the circuits or connectors, replace the BMS control module and go to "Verification Of Repair " procedure.
* Perform "SOC calibration" to change previous SOC stored in BMS to current SOC of battery in case of the "BMS ECU replacement" or "BSA replacement".
After connectting GDS to DLC connector, ignition switch "ON" and select "Vehicle S/W management" on GDS.
Perform "SOC calibration" in "Vehicle S/W management".
It is possible to check the SOC value with "SOC state" of service data.
NOTE: (BMS has a function which correct SOC value stored in BMS to current SOC of battery while driving less than 30 minutes even "SOC calibration" doesn't performed.)WARNING: Hybrid Battery system uses around 270V voltage.
It may cause death or damage due to electrical shock, if you do not follow below Instructions.- Follows instructions of repair information including GENERAL SAFETY INFORMATION AND CAUTION .
- Wear and use insulated gloves and tools.
- IG "OFF", Disconnect ground cable of auxiliary battery and "OFF" the safety connector of the high voltage battery.
- Check high voltage terminal on Power Relay Assembly is lower than 30V.
- Be careful that it should not be short between terminals when measuring battery cell voltage. You may be injured due to spark, parts damage or electrical shock.
- Metallic material cause high voltage short that may cause damage of life or vehicle. Therefore, get rid of all the metallic material before working. (Metallic Material: Watch, Ring, any metallic products etc.)
- After disconnect W/H goes to BMS ECU from High voltage battery, be careful not to happen short between exposed terminal and terminal on high voltage connector.
