Signal Circuit Inspection

Check for open in harness.
1. Ignition "OFF".
2. Disconnect SMARTRA connector.
3. Measure resistance between signal terminal of Smartra harness connector and PCM harness connector.
  Specification: 1 Ω or less

4. Is the measured resistance within specifications?
  YES
  - Go to " CHECK FOR SHORT IN HARNESS" procedure.
  NO
  - Check for open in harness. Repair as necessary and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
Check for short in harness.
1. Ignition "OFF"
2. Disconnect SMARTRA connector.
3. Ignition "ON" & Engine "OFF".
4. Measure voltage between signal terminal of SMARTRA harness connector and chassis ground.
  Specification: Approx. 5.48V

5. Is the measured voltage within specifications?
  YES
  - Go to "SIGNAL CIRCUIT INSPECTION " procedure.
  NO
  - Check for open in harness. Repair as necessary and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
