Component Inspection

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

■ Input speed sensor waveform Inspection

  1. Connect "A/T solenoid valve" connector and Scantool to Data Link Connector (DLC).
  2. Engine ON and operate Input speed sensor.
  3. Measure waveform between signal of Input speed sensor harness and chassis ground.

    Specification:  See specific waveform below.

  4. Is the measured waveform within specifications?

    YES

    • Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair as necessary and go to "VERIFICATION VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

    NO

    • Go to "PCM/TCM Inspection" procedure below.

■ PCM/TCM Inspection

  1. Ignition "ON" & Engine "OFF".
  2. Disconnect ATM solenoid valve connector.
  3. Connect scantool to Data Link Connector (DLC) and select Simulation mode.
  4. Input specific frequency to signal of Input speed sensor by simulation mode.

ⓧ The values are subject to change according to vehicle model or conditions.

  5. Is measured Input speed sensor value changed by input frequency?

    YES

    NO

    • Substitute with a known-good PCM/TCM and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace PCM/TCM and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
