Component Inspection

■ "Oil temperature sensor" Inspection
- Ignition "OFF".
- Disconnect Oil temperature sensor connector.
- Measure the resistance across the two terminals of the Oil Temperature sensor.
Specification: Approx. 12V

YES
- Go to "PCM/TCM Inspection" procedure below.
NO
- Replace Oil temperature sensor as necessary and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
■ PCM/TCM
- Ignition "ON" & Engine "OFF".
- Connect Oil temperature sensor connector.
- Connect scantool to Data Link Connector (DLC) and select Simulation mode.
- Input 0 → 5 voltage at Oil temperature sensor signal line by simulation mode and Monitoring Oil temperature.

- Is measured Oil temperature sensor value changed by simulating voltage?
YES
- Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair as necessary and go to "VERIFICATION VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
NO
- Substitute with a known-good PCM/TCM and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace PCM/TCM and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
