Check Open or Short in signal circuit

  1. IG "OFF".
  2. Disconnect Knock sensor connector.
  3. IG KEY "ON" & ENG "OFF".
  4. Measure the voltage between signal1 terminal of knock sensor harness connector and chassis ground.
  5. Measure the voltage between signal2 terminal of knock sensor harness connector and chassis ground.

    Specification:  Approx. 1.6V

  6. Is the measured voltage within specification?

    YES 

    • Go to "Check Short in signal circuit" procedure.

    NO 

    • Repair as necessary and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR" procedure.
