E-Comp CAN Circuit Inspection

■ Check for Open in Harness 

  1. Ignition "OFF"
  2. Disconnect E-Comp LV connector and A/C Control Module main harness connector.
  3. Measure resistance between E-Comp CAN High Terminal of E-Comp LV connector and E-Comp CAN High Terminal of A/C Control Module harness connector.
  4. Measure resistance between E-Comp CAN Low Terminal of E-Comp LV connector and E-Comp CAN Low Terminal of A/C Control Module harness connector.

    Specification  : below 1

  5. Is the fuse blown?

    YES 

    • Go to next procedure.

    NO 

■ Check for Open in Harness 

  1. Ignition "OFF"
  2. Disconnect E-Comp LV connector and A/C Control Module main harness connector.
  3. Measure resistance between Interlock Out terminal of E-Comp LV connector and Interlock Out terminal of A/C Control Module harness connector.
  4. Measure resistance between Interlock In terminal of E-Comp LV connector and Interlock In terminal of A/C Control Module harness connector.

    Specification  : below 1

  5. Is the measured resistance within specification?

    YES 

    • Go to next procedure.

    NO 

■ Check Short to Ground in Harness 

  1. Ignition "OFF"
  2. Disconnect E-Comp LV connector and A/C Control Module main harness connector.
  3. Measure resistance between E-Comp CAN High Terminal of A/C Control Module harness connector and chassis ground.
  4. Measure resistance between E-Comp CAN Low Terminal of A/C Control Module harness connector and chassis ground.

    Specification  : Infinity

  5. Is the measured resistance within specification?

    YES 

    NO 

■ Check Short to Ground in Harness 

  1. Ignition "OFF"
  2. Disconnect E-Comp LV connector and A/C Control Module main harness connector.
  3. Measure resistance between Interlock Out terminal of A/C Control Module harness connector and chassis ground.
  4. Measure resistance between Interlock In terminal of A/C Control Module harness connector and chassis ground.

    Specification:  Infinity

  5. Is the measured resistance within specification?

    YES 

    • Substitute with a known-good E-Compressor and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace E-Compressor and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

    NO
