Signal Circuit Inspection

■ Short Check (to Ground) 

  1. IG "OFF".
  2. Disconnect the Brake Pedal Travel sensor, AHB connectors.
  3. Measure resistance between PDT signal terminal of the Brake Pedal Travel sensor harness connector and chassis ground.

    Specification:  Approx. ∞ Ω

  4. Is the measured value within specifications?

    YES 

    • Go to next procedure.

    NO 

    • Repair short to ground in PDT signal circuit between the Brake Pedal Travel sensor harness connector and AHB harness connector and then, go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR "

■ Short Check (to Battery) 

  1. Ignition "ON" & Engine "OFF".
  2. Disconnect the Brake Pedal Travel sensor, AHB connectors.
  3. Measure voltage between PDT signal terminal of the Brake Pedal Travel sensor harness connector and chassis ground.

    Specification:  Approx. 0 V

  4. Is the measured value within specifications?

    YES 

    • Go to next procedure.

    NO 

    • Repair short to battery in PDT signal circuit between the Brake Pedal Travel sensor harness connector and AHB ECU harness connector and then, go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR "

■ Open Check 

  1. IG "ON".
  2. Disconnect the Brake Pedal Travel sensor, AHB connectors.
  3. Measure voltage between PDT signal terminal of the Brake Pedal Travel sensor harness connector and AHB ECU harness connector.

    Specification:  Approx. 0 Ω

  4. Is the measured value within specifications?

    YES 

    • Substitute with a known-good Brake Pedal Travel sensor and check for proper operation. If problem is corrected, replace Brake Pedal Travel sensor and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

    NO 

    • Repair open in PDF, PDT signal circuit between the Brake Pedal Travel sensor harness connector and AHB harness connector and then, go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR "
