DTC B2859: CDMA Modem Fail: General Description: General Description

TMU can get a phone call from Call Center. To communicate with Call center, TMU should support CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) functionality. TMU consists of the main board and NAD board. The NAD board has a capability of CDMA modem. Via NAD board, TMU can establish wireless connection to service center and can receive a service call, send SMS message and packet data through CDMA wireless network just same as personal cellular phone does. If this CDMA modem is malfunctioned, TMU will fail to get any services for telematics because it will not be able to establish wireless connection to service center.
