Monitor GDS Data

  1. Connect GDS to Data Link Connector (DLC).
  2. IG key "OFF" -> IG "ON".
  3. Warm up the engine to normal operating temperature.
  4. Monitor diagnostic trouble code and present of trouble code. Using a GDS, Check if the same DTC re-sets after clearing DTC.
  5. Is the same DTC detected again?

    YES 

    • Substitute with a known - good RH outside mirror and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace the mirror and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

    NO 

    • Fault is intermittent and caused either by poor contact in connectors or wiring harness, or it has been repaired and BSD ECU memory is not cleared yet. Thoroughly check all connectors (and connections) for looseness, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration and/or damage.
    • Repair or replace as necessary and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
