PDM Power Circuit and Ground Circuit Inspection
- PDM Power Circuit Inspection
- IG "ON" & ENG "OFF"
- Measure voltage between Power to PDM circuit and chassis ground.
- Measure voltage between Power to ESCL circuit and chassis ground.
(It is available to measure during ESCL operation.)
Specification: Approx. 12 V
- Are the measured voltage within specifications?
YES
- Go to " 2PDM Ground Circuit Inspection" procedure.
NO
- Check the related fuses and circuit. Repair as necessary and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
- PDM Ground Circuit Inspection
- IG "ON" & ENG "OFF"
- Measure voltage between PDM ground circuit and chassis ground.
Specification: Approx. 0 V
- Is the measured voltage within specifications?
YES
- Go to next procedure.
NO
- Check open or short on PDM ground circuit (PDM↔ESCL).
Repair as necessary and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
- Check Open or Short on ESCL Communication Line
- After IG "OFF", disconnect '-' terminal from battery.
- Disconnect connectors of IPM, PDM, and ESCL.
- Check open or short on ESCL Comm. line (ESCL↔IPM).
- Check open or short on ESCL Enable Output line (ESCL↔IPM).
Specification for Open check: Below 1Ω
Specification for Short check: ∞ Ω
- Are the measured resistances within specifications?
YES
- Substitute with a known - good ESCL and check for proper operation.
If the problem is corrected, replace the unit and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
- Substitute with a known - good PDM and check for proper operation.
If the problem is corrected, replace the unit and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
- Substitute with a known - good IPM and check for proper operation.
If the problem is corrected, replace the unit and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
NO
- Repair as necessary and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
- Substitute with a known - good ESCL and check for proper operation.
