EP ENTOURAGE REAR SUSPENSION NOISE
DESCRIPTION:
Some EP Entourage vehicles may exhibit a noise from the rear suspension while travelling over a rough road. This noise is remedied by replacing the rear coil spring urethane tube.
VEHICLES AFFECTED:
EP Entourage - All
PARTS REQUIRED:
SERVICE PROCEDURE:
1. Raise the vehicle and support it securely.
2. Loosen the rear wheel lug nuts.
3. Remove the rear wheel (A) from the hub (B).
CAUTION:
Take care to not damage the wheel studs when removing the wheel and tire.
NOTE:
When re-installing wheel, use a torque-stick to torque lug nuts to 80 lb4t. Tighten lugs in a star pattern, as shown.
4. Support the lower arm (A) with a jack.
5. Remove the lower arm bolt (B) from the rear knuckle.
NOTE:
Tightening torque: 116-139 lb-ft.
6. Loosen the lower arm bolt (C) from the cross member.
NOTE:
Tightening torque: 145-195 lb-ft.
7. Use caution while slowly lowering the jack until the spring is fully uncompressed.
8. Remove the spring, lower seat, and upper pad.
9. Remove the lower urethane spring tube from the bottom of the spring and replace with the new part. Install the new part with the holes facing down.
CAUTION:
Before fitting the new part on the spring, clean off any dust or foreign substances from the spring.
CAUTION:
Fully push the tube onto the spring until the end of the tube aligns with the end of the spring (circled).
10. Install all components in reverse order of removal.
11. Repeat procedure for the other side.
