Adjusting Drive Belt & Tensioner

Hang the belt on the pulley of the tensioner and install the tensioner.
(If the tensioner is already installed, loosen its mounting bolts to allow belt installation.)

Tightening torque

Tensioner assembly bolt : 20 ~ 27 Nm (200 ~ 270 kg.cm, 14 ~ 20 lb.ft)

Install the belt in the following order.
Alternator, Power steering, Air conditioner pulley and then Crankshaft pulley.

Rotate the tensioner arm clockwise (about 14°) with a spanner (16 mm) and fit the belt to the idler pulley.

When installing the belt on the pulley, make sure it is centered on the pulley.

The tensioner mark should be between the "MIN" and "MAX" position. If not, replace the belt.
