Front Disc Brake Caliper: Disassembly

  1. Remove piston boot. See Figure . Place a narrow wooden block between piston(s) and caliper that will allow piston to clear its bore and not be damaged by caliper end when removed.
  2. Using low pressure compressed air, apply air into caliper fitting hole to force piston out of caliper. See Fig 1 . Remove wood block and piston. Remove dust boot and piston seal (use small, flat-blade screwdriver if necessary). See Fig 2 .
