Seat Belt Warning Switch & Light

  1. Disconnect suspect seat belt switch harness connector located under seat. Check continuity between switch terminals. Continuity should not exist with seat belt fastened. Continuity should exist when seat belt is not fastened. If continuity is as specified, go to next step. Replace seat belt switch if continuity is not as specified.
  2. Reconnect seat belt switch harness connector. Turn ignition on. With seat belt fastened, seat belt warning light should be illuminated. With seat belt not fastened, seat belt warning light should go out. If warning light does not illuminate as specified, check for burned out bulb or open circuit in wiring. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Repair or replace as necessary.
