DTC C1201, C1204, C1207 Or C1210: Condition
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Hyundai XG350. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
DTC sets when a wheel speed sensor outputs an abnormal signal, other than an open or short circuit, such as a speed jumper or wrong exciter ring signal. For speed jump DTC to set, wheel velocity deceleration of -15 MPH causes HECU to monitor this failure, and compares wheel velocity with wheel velocity during next cycle. DTC is set when deceleration continues for 140 msec or more. Wrong tone wheel DTC sets when maximum wheel velocity exceeds 12.5 MPH and wheel velocity is 40 percent of maximum wheel velocity for 1 minute, or maximum wheel velocity exceeds 25 MPH and wheel velocity is 60 percent of maximum wheel velocity for 30 seconds or more. Possible cause are:
- Improper wheel speed sensor installation.
- Wheel speed sensor malfunction.
- Brake rotor malfunction.
- Wheel bearing malfunction.
- Wiring harness or harness connector malfunction.
- Hydraulic and Electronic Control Unit (HECU) malfunction.
