Retrieving & Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes

  1. Turn ignition off. Connect HI-SCAN (PRO) or equivalent scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). DLC is located under left side of instrument panel, near kick panel.
  2. Turn ignition on. Following instructions on scan tool, navigate to ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM. Using scan tool, retrieve ABS DTCs. If any DTCs are stored, perform appropriate testing procedure. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS  .
  3. After replacing or repairing malfunctioning components, clear DTCs by using CLEAR key on scan tool. DTCs can also be cleared by disconnecting negative battery cable.
