Removal & Installation (Tiburon)
- Turn ignition off and remove key. Disconnect negative battery cable and WAIT at least 30 seconds. Remove driver's air bag. Ensure steering wheel is in straight-ahead position. Remove steering wheel center mounting nut and remove steering wheel. Remove steering column upper shroud.
- Remove console upper cover from around shift lever. Remove center trim panel, and disconnect cigarette lighter electrical connector. Remove left side knee bolster. Remove and/or disconnect rheostat switch, hood release handle and DLC connector as necessary.
- Remove 5 instrument cluster trim panel screws. Remove 4 instrument cluster screws. See Fig 1. Carefully pull cluster out enough to disconnect harness connectors from printed circuit board. Remove instrument cluster. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten steering wheel center mounting nut to 30-37 ft. lbs. (40-50 N.m).
