Standard instrument cluster includes speedometer, tachometer, individual coolant temperature and fuel gauges, and warning indicator lights. Speedometer is driven by electrical pulses from a reed switch or vehicle speed sensor. Speedometer reed switch is cable-driven by transaxle gear. Oil pressure, brake fluid level, low fuel, door ajar, battery voltage, and seat belt warning indicators are represented in an illuminated light bar that uses light bulbs for backlighting. Illuminated light bar is located at bottom of instrument cluster. Accent equipped with an Electroluminescent Lamp (EL) instrument cluster, uses an inverter to convert DC current to AC current to power an EL sheet used to illuminate instrument cluster gauges.
