Elantra (Without Trip Computer)

  1. Disconnect fuel gauge sending unit 5-pin connector located under rear seat cushion. Connect a 12-volt, 3.4-watt test light between fuel gauge sending unit harness connector terminals No. 1 (Black wire) and No. 3 (Pink wire). See Fig 1.
  2. Turn ignition on. Test bulb should illuminate and fuel gauge needle gradually move to full position. If test bulb does not illuminate and fuel gauge needle does not move, check circuits between harness connector fuel gauge and ground connection. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Repair as necessary. If circuits are okay, replace fuel gauge.
