Wheel Bearing End Play
- Raise and support vehicle. Release parking brake. Remove wheel and wheel bearing dust cap. Remove caliper and disc (if equipped). Set dial indicator against edge of axle hub or brake drum center flange.
- Push and pull on axle hub or brake drum. Note bearing end play. See REAR WHEEL BEARING MAXIMUM END PLAY table.
- If end play exceeds specification, retighten wheel bearing nut. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Recheck end play. If end play still exists, replace wheel bearings.
