Removal & Installation (Elantra & Tiburon)

1. Raise and support frame rail of vehicle with jack stands. Disconnect or remove components as necessary to obtain clearance for strut assembly removal.
2. From inside vehicle, remove cap from upper strut tower. Remove strut retaining nuts. Remove lower strut bolts. Lower axle assembly just enough to withdraw strut assembly. See Fig 1.
3. Using spring compressor, compress spring. Remove strut piston rod nut. Remove pipe, insulator assembly, rubber bumper, dust cover and spring pad. Remove spring. To install, reverse removal procedure.

NOTE: Check rubber parts and coil springs for damage or deterioration.
