Inspection (Elantra, Sonata & Tiburon)
- Check for bent or damaged components. Inspect all bushings for wear and deterioration. Replace damaged parts as necessary.
- Install nut to stabilizer bar link ball joint stud. Move stud from side to side several times. Using INCH-lb. torque wrench, rotate ball joint stud approximately 2 revolutions per minute and note starting torque. Starting torque should be 15-28 INCH lbs. (1.7-3.2 N.m).
- Replace link and ball joint if starting torque exceeds specification. If starting torque is less than specification, link ball joint may be used if no vertical play, roughness or lack of lubrication exists.
