Removal & Installation (Elantra, Sonata & Tiburon)

1. Remove steering wheel. See STEERING WHEEL & HORN PAD . On Elantra and Tiburon, remove lower crash pad and mounting bracket. On Sonata, remove, steering column upper and lower shrouds. On all models, disconnect connectors and remove multifunction switch. Remove lower covers. See Fig 1 and Fig 2 .
2. On Sonata, lift dust cover and remove 4 steering column mounting bolts. On all models, remove universal joint coupling bolt (at steering gear box). Remove steering column assembly from vehicle. To install, reverse removal procedure.
