Check Passenger-side Side Impact AIR Bag

  1. Connect Air Bag Simulator (0957A-38200) to passenger-side air bag module harness connector. Using plastic shorting bar insert, release left-side air bag activation prevention mechanism on SRSCM harness connector.
  2. Measure resistance between SRSCM connector terminals No. 24 (Light Green wire) and No. 25 (Yellow/Black wire). See Figure. If resistance is 1.6-2.8 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not 1.6-2.8 ohms, replace harness or connector between SRSCM and passenger-side side impact air bag module harness connector.
  3. Connect passenger-side air bag module and SRSCM harness connectors. Connect negative battery cable. Wait at least 30 seconds. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Wait at least 30 seconds. Clear DTC"s from scan tool. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Wait at least 30 seconds. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Wait at least 30 seconds. Check scan tool for DTCs. If DTC B1382 or B1383 is output, replace passenger-side air bag module. If DTC B1382 or B1383 is not output, system is functioning properly.
