Check Driver-side Side Impact AIR Bag Squib Circuit

  1. Connect SRSCM harness to SRSCM. Turn ignition switch to ON position. On models with passenger-side air bag, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 22 (Brown wire) on harness side of SRSCM. On models without passenger-side air bag, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 13 (White/Black wire) on harness die of SRSCM. If voltage is zero, go to next step. If voltage is not zero, replace harness or connector between driver-side side impact bag module and SRSCM.
  2. Ensure ignition switch is in LOCK position. Disconnect negative battery cable. Wait at least 30 seconds. Connect driver-side side impact air bag module to harness connector. Connect negative battery cable. Wait 30 seconds. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Wait 30 seconds. Clear DTC"s in scan tool. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position.
    NOTE: DTCs other than 1381 may be recorded in scan tool. They are not relevant to this check and should be disregarded.
  3. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Wait 30 seconds. Check for DTC"s in scan tool. If DTC 1381 is recorded in scan tool, replace driver-side side impact air bag module. If DTC 1381 is not recorded, system is functioning normally.
