Check Driver-side AIR Bag Squib Circuit
- Ensure ignition switch is in LOCK position. Connect SRSCM to SRSCM harness connector. Connect negative battery cable. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Measure voltage between ground and Green wire (driver initiator high) on clockspring side of upper clockspring connector. See Figure or Figure . If voltage is zero, go to step 3. If voltage is not zero, go to next step.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect clockspring connector between clockspring and SRSCM harness. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Measure voltage between terminal No. 2 (Green Wire) at harness side of SRSCM-to-clockspring connector. If voltage is not zero, replace wire harness between SRSCM and clockspring. If voltage is zero, replace clockspring.
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Wait at least 30 seconds. Connect driver-side air bag module to clockspring connector. Connect negative battery cable. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Wait at least 30 seconds. Clear DTC"s in scan tool. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position.NOTE: DTCs other than B1349 may be recorded by scan tool. They are not relevant to this check and should be disregarded.
- Turn ignition switch to ON position. Wait at least 30 seconds. Check for DTC"s in scan tool. If DTC B1349 is recorded, replace driver-side air bag module. If B1349 is not recorded, system is functioning normally.
