Removal & Installation (Elantra)

NOTE: Plug all open fittings immediately after removal in order to keep moisture out of the air conditioning system.
  1. Disconnect battery negative terminal.
  2. Discharge refrigerant from the A/C system. See GENERAL SERVICING PROCEDURES .
  3. Disconnect fittings connected to the evaporator unit from the engine compartment. See Fig 2.

  4. Remove the main crash pad assembly. See Fig 3.

  5. Remove the glove box support bracket. See Fig 4.
  6. Disconnect the thermostatic switch connector. See Fig 5.
  7. Remove the evaporator upper and lower mounting bolts. See Fig 6.
  8. Remove the evaporator unit. See Fig 7.
  9. To install, reverse removal procedure.
