Removal & Installation (Accent)

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Discharge the refrigerant. See GENERAL SERVICING PROCEDURES .
  3. NOTE: Cap the open fittings immediately to keep moisture and dirt out of the system.
  4. Disconnect the liquid tube "B" and suction hose from the evaporator. See Fig 2.
  5. Remove the water drain hose from the evaporator.
  6. Remove the grommet cover from the dash panel. See Fig 3.
  7. Remove three of the glove box assembly bolts. See Fig 4.
  8. Disconnect the thermostatic switch connector.
  9. Remove three of the evaporator mounting bolts (or nuts).
  10. Remove the evaporator unit. See Fig 5.
  11. To install, reverse removal procedure. If the evaporator unit is replaced with a new unit, add 1.28 ozs. (40 cc) of compressor oil to the compressor. Evacuate, charge and test refrigeration system. See GENERAL SERVICING PROCEDURES .
