Alternator/Water Pump: Notes

CAUTION: When installing the V-ribbed belt, check that the V-ribs are properly in alignment. If noise or slippage is detected, check the belt for wear, damage or breakage on the pulley contact surface. Check the pulley for scoring. Check for proper belt deflection measurement.
NOTE: The belt tension must be measured between the specified pulleys. When a new belt is installed, adjust the tension to the center of the standard range indicated under new. See SPECIFICATIONS . Let the engine idle for 5 minutes or longer and then check the standard value under Inspection. When adjusting a belt which has been used or a belt newly installed after 5 minutes of operation or longer, refer to the standard value indicated under Used. See SPECIFICATIONS .
