Alternator/Water Pump: Accent

  1. Check that the belts are not damaged and are properly fit into the pulley grooves.
  2. Apply 22 lbs. (10 kg.) of force to the belt back midway between the pulleys as shown in the illustration. See Figure. Measure the amount of deflection with a tension gauge.
  3. To adjust drive belt, loosen generator mounting bolt, tighten belt and tighten mounting bolts. Recheck belt tension and readjust as necessary.
