Elantra & Tiburon
- Disconnect fuel gauge sending unit connector, located under rear seat cushion. Connect a 12-volt, 3.4-watt test light between terminals No. 3 and 4 (terminals No. 1 and 6 on Tiburon) of fuel gauge sending unit harness connector. See Fig 1. Turn ignition on. Ensure test bulb flashes and fuel gauge moves gradually to "F" position.
- If test light flashes but gauge does not move to "F" position, replace fuel gauge. If test light does not flash, check wiring for open circuit. Repair as necessary. If wiring is okay, replace fuel gauge.
