Power Door Locks: Sonata

Battery voltage to power door lock control relays No. 1 and 2 is applied at all times from fuse No. 28 (15-amp) in dash fuse box. When driver's master switch assembly is in the lock position, switch assembly will ground the lock circuit of door lock control relay. Battery voltage is then supplied to door lock actuators to lock the doors.

When driver's master switch assembly is turned to the unlock position, switch assembly will ground the unlock circuit of the door lock control relay. Battery voltage is then supplied to door lock actuators, with polarity reversed, to unlock the doors.

When using the key or door lock knob to lock or unlock vehicle, ground path for the door lock control relay will be provided through the Electronic Time and Alarm Control System (ETACS) module. The ETACS module also monitors input from the ignition key switch to prevent doors from being accidentally locked when exiting vehicle with ignition off and key left in ignition switch.
