Elantra & Tiburon

Battery voltage to left door lock actuator is supplied at all times through fuse No. 2 (15-amp) in dash fuse box. A metal rod links left front door lock switch and central door lock actuator. When left front door lock switch is pushed to the lock position, the metal rod pushes the internal actuator switches of the door lock actuator to the lock position. The solid state circuit receives lock signal and momentarily grounds the relay coil. Battery power is then supplied to all door lock actuators through relay contact and actuator switch.

Each motor is grounded through the appropriate door lock actuator. The solid state circuit de-energizes the relay coil when limit switches inside the door lock actuators move to the unlock positions. The door locks work similarly when left front door lock switch is pushed to the unlock position, except electrical current goes through each motor in the opposite direction. See Fig 1.
