Elantra & Tiburon

  1. Remove rear defogger relay. Check continuity between terminals No. 2 and 4, and between terminals No. 1 and 5. See Fig 1. Continuity should exist between terminals No. 2 and 4, and not between terminals No. 1 and 5. If continuity is as specified, go to next step. If continuity is not as specified, replace rear defogger relay.
  2. Apply battery voltage between terminals No. 2 and 4. With voltage applied, check continuity between terminals No. 1 and 5. If continuity exists, rear defogger relay is okay. If continuity does not exist, replace rear defogger relay.
