Fuel Gauge

  1. Disconnect fuel gauge sending unit connector at fuel tank. Connect a 12-volt, 3.4-watt test light between fuel gauge sending unit harness connector terminal No. 1 (Black wire) and No. 6 (Green/Brown wire). SeeFig 1 . Turn ignition on. Ensure test light flashes and fuel gauge moves to Full position.
  2. If test light flashes but gauge does not move to Full position, replace fuel gauge. If test light does not flash, check wiring for open circuit. Repair as necessary. If wiring is okay, replace fuel gauge.
