Rear Brake Shoes: Removal

Raise and support vehicle. Remove brake drum. Remove automatic adjuster spring and automatic adjuster lever. See Fig 1. Spread shoes and remove adjuster strut. Remove shoe-to-shoe spring and front shoe hold-down spring. Remove front shoe. Remove rear shoe hold-down spring and parking cable clip at shoe. Remove shoe.

NOTE: The adjuster strut is marked "R" or "L" for right or left side of vehicle.
