Removal & Installation (Elantra & Sonata)

Raise and support frame rail of vehicle with jack stands. Disconnect or remove components as necessary to obtain clearance for shock absorber assembly removal.
From inside vehicle, remove cap from upper strut tower. Remove strut retaining nuts. Remove lower shock bolt. Lower axle assembly just enough to withdraw shock and spring assembly.
Using spring compressor, compress spring. Remove shock piston nut. Remove washer, upper bushing, bracket and spring pad. Remove spring. To install, reverse removal procedure. Ensure both rear springs have the same color identification mark.
