Pulse Generator "A" Or "B"
- Using ohmmeter, check resistance between terminals No. 1 and 2 (pulse generator "A"), or terminals No. 3 and 4 (pulse generator "B"). See Figure
. Resistance should be 215-275 ohms at 68°F (20°C). If resistance is as specified, pulse generator is okay. If resistance is not as specified, check for short circuit, damaged or disconnected wire. If wire is okay, replace appropriate pulse generator.
- Raise front wheels, and support suspension as necessary. With selector lever in "L" position and engine speed at 1000 RPM, use an oscilloscope to check voltage wave pattern between terminals No. 1 and 2 (pulse generator "A"), or terminals No. 3 and 4 (pulse generator "B"). Voltage should be at least 1000 millivolts (generator "A") or 500 millivolts (generator "B"). See Fig 1
.
- If voltage is not as specified, check for faulty installation of pulse generator. If installation is okay, replace appropriate pulse generator. If noise exists in oscilloscope wave pattern, check for improper grounding of pulse generator circuit wire. If wire is okay, replace appropriate pulse generator.
