End Clutch: Reassembly
- Install "D" shaped rings and oil seal on piston with round side facing out. See Figure . Lubricate ring with Dexron-II ATF. Install piston by hand, being careful not to damage ring.
- Install washer and return spring. Using Snap Ring Installer (09453-33000), install NEW snap ring. Alternately install lined plate(s) and steel plate(s). Install reaction plate.
- Install large snap ring and measure clearance between reaction plate and snap ring. Clearance should be .016-.026" (.40-.65 mm). If clearance is incorrect, replace snap ring. See END CLUTCH END PLAY SNAP RINGS table.
