Installation (Sonata 4-Cylinder)

  1. To install, reverse removal procedure. To adjust bearing preload, tighten adjusting nut to 15 ft. lbs. (20 N.m) while rotating wheel. Loosen adjusting nut, and retighten to 84 INCH lbs. (10 N.m). Rotate wheel again and retighten to 84 INCH lbs. (10 N.m).
  2. Install lock nut and cotter pin. If cotter pin cannot be inserted, back off adjusting nut 15 degrees maximum to install pin. Fill grease cap with grease and install cap. Apply and release parking brake lever. Depress and release brake pedal. This will automatically adjust shoe clearance.
