Fuel Gauge: Sonata
- Check if other gauges and indicator lights are inoperative. If these are also inoperative, check appropriate fuse in fuse panel. See GAUGES FUSE IDENTIFICATION
. Fuse panel is located on left kick panel. If other gauges are operating and fuse is not blown, raise vehicle and disconnect fuel gauge harness connector at left front of tank. See Fig 1

- Connect a 12-volt test light, (with a 3.4-watt light bulb installed), between harness connector terminals No. 3 and 2 (ground terminal). See Fig 1
. Turn ignition on. Ensure test light is flashing and note that fuel gauge pointer moves to "F" position.
- If test light flashes but gauge DOES NOT move to "F" position, replace fuel gauge. If test light does not flash, first check for open in Black wire (ground circuit) from instrument cluster's 8-wire connector. Second, check for open in Light Green/Red wire from instrument cluster's 8-wire connector, terminal No. 7 to fuel sending unit's harness connector terminal No. 3. If open in wire is not found, remove instrument cluster and replace fuel gauge.
