Master Cylinder: Disassembly

Place cylinder mounting flange in a soft-jawed vise. Remove dust boot, retaining ring and stop washer. Remove piston stop screw from bottom of master cylinder while pushing in on piston assembly. Withdraw primary piston assembly, secondary piston assembly and secondary return spring from master cylinder. Remove check valve caps, tube seats, check valves and check valve springs. See Figure .
