Coolant Temperature Gauge

  1. Disconnect wiring connector at temperature sending unit. Attach ohmmeter leads to connector terminals. Resistance should be 26.4 ohms. If not, remove instrument cluster.
  2. Attach ohmmeter leads across temperature gauge terminals on back of instrument cluster. SeeFigure . Resistance should be 42 ohms. If resistance is low, check for shorted temperature gauge coil. If resistance is high, check for open wire to gauge coil.
