Jet Valves: Removal

  1. Remove rocker arms and shafts. Using Jet Valve Socket (MD998310), remove jet valves. Disassemble valve using Spring Pliers (MD998309) to compress spring and remove retainer lock.
  2. Ensure jet valve socket is not tilted with respect to center of valve when used. If socket is tilted, stem may be bent resulting in defective jet valve operation and a broken wrench.
  3. Check valve head and seat for damage and ensure jet valve slides smoothly in body without play. DO NOT  disturb jet valve and body combination. If defective, jet valve and body should be replaced as an assembly. Remove jet valve stem seals with pliers and discard.
