Removal (1.6L)

  1. Remove timing belt. Drain engine oil. Remove oil pan and oil pump pick-up screen. Remove oil pump cover. Remove front case and oil pump as an assembly. Note position of mounting bolts for reassembly reference. See Figure.
  2. Remove oil pressure relief plug, spring and plunger. Remove nut and oil pump sprocket. Remove oil pump cover. Remove rotor assembly.
