Removal (1.5L)

Remove timing belt. Drain engine oil. Remove oil pan and oil pump pick-up screen. Remove front case assembly. Note position of mounting bolts. See Fig 1. Remove oil pump cover. Mark the outer gear with felt pen for reassembly reference. Remove inner and outer oil pump gears from front cover. Remove plug, relief spring and relief valve.
