Removal Procedure

Open the liftgate.
Remove the liftgate trim panel. Refer to Liftgate Trim Panel Replacement (SUV) .
Disconnect the latch electrical connectors.
Disconnect the lock actuator electrical connector.
Disconnect the rear wiper motor electrical connector.
Disconnect the rear wiper module connectors.
Disconnect the rear defroster grid connectors.
With a flat-bladed tool, release all the retainers attaching the wiring harness to the liftgate.

Note routing. Remove the wiring harness from the liftgate through the passthrough holes (1).
